Tories don’t care about minorities
The Conservatives currently have active outreach campaigns to ethnic communities across Canada focused on South Asian and Chinese communities nonetheless it is discouraging to learn that the Conservatives have avoided Arab groups. The largest Arab organization here in Canada, National Council on Canada-Arab Relations says they have requested to meet with elected Conservative Government Officials which have been denied time and again or not even receiving responses from their phone calls, emails and letters. The National Council on Canada-Arab relations was angry and displeased with Harper’s policy supporting Israel.
The National Council on Canada-Arab Relations’ Executive Director, Mazen Chouaib stated:
“We don’t do partisanship here. We would like to work with all parties, but unfortunately, the Conservatives have refused dealing with us, and we’re facing great challenges dealing with these guys.”
The Conservatives do not care if the National Council on Canada-Arab Relation is bipartisan or not. It wouldn’t appeal to their primary voting bloc, the generalizing, the uneducated [some are, or they think so], the racial profilers, and neo-conservative white trash who think all Arabs are terrorists and somehow linked to al Qaeda. This disturbs me greatly and threatens to destroy our multicultural and diverse society that all Canadians have contributed to help build.
Canadians should be worried that they are not the special interest of the Conservative Government. The Conservative’s special interest is being appealing to their special interests groups here in Canada and abroad.
