The biggest pile yet

I have lurked many ultra-pro-Conservative biased websites and found them to be quite a large piles of bullshit. However to my surprise I was to discover the biggest pile yet (www.notaleader.ca). The Conservatives are prematurely proclaiming themselves to be the champions of Senate Reform on this new website. Like most Conservative pamphlets and other vessels of propagating their heart and mindless agenda (through the Harperbot 3000 or the Young Conservative Drones (YCD) they need to bash the Liberals every time they get).

This website worships the Conservatives’ plan for reforming our Senate. They want to place an eight year cap on the Senators’ service to their Canada. Okay these are patronage appointments, yes. They’re a major function of Canada’s political machine and major part of our democratic traditions and values. The elected Conservative Officials who haven’t done anything for Canada but having Canadians in submission to their oblivious agenda want to reform and take away these great men and women’s work and tear it up. These people have been appointed to these positions on their merit and credentials, not just party loyalty.

The Conservatives want to destroy Canada’s democratic traditions. Want me to name a few? Lieutenant General Roméo Dallaire and the now retired Senator Jack Austin are just some examples. The Conservatives have to look at the appointments that their predecessor Brian Mulroney made. There are a lot of people who he appointed who don’t have merit, don’t have the credentials to serve in Canada’s highest chamber. Yet they did it. The Conservatives have to learn that they can’t take their frustrations out on Canadians – we aren’t your boxing bag.

Whaaat?? Holy frig!! Imagine….a political party trying to protray itself as a champion of one thing or another. Next thing you know the Liberals will be telling Canadians they are the champions of Kyoto and GHG’s. Whats next…the NDP championing themselves as the party of the little guy?

    C’est raciste :(

  3. Dennis (Second Thoughts) Says:

Are you completely baked? You’re praising the democratic nature of the Senate over the elected members voted into the House by the Canadian public?

And if Harper hasn’t done anything while in government, then what’s the problem? No harm, no foul, right?

It’s amazing the pretzels leftists turn themselves into trying to take swipes at Harper. It really is.

billg, There is nothing good about the Conservatives.

    Quebecois, Comment ce raciste est-il?

Dennis, No I am not baked at all. In fact, I’m just cherry. The Senate isn’t meant to be an elected body of bureaucratic officials like the House of Commons. There is nothing wrong with it. If you read what I wrote in it’s entirety you’d discover that the Senate is probably the most functional operation of our government. There are quite a lot of Senators that are dedicated to Canada and Canadians. I can’t say that about our current government of ass-clowns.

Do the Senators, in the U.S. have an eight year stint?
Oh how different it would be if the Senate was 100%Conservative, you would never hear a peep about reform! Are you telling me that every Conservative Senator likes the 8 years?

  6. Anth Says:

annie, No. Senators can serve until they are unable too or loose in an election. I don’t think the Conservatives in the Senate actual agree with their leader’s vision for Senate Reform. Well they aren’t vocal against him since their a bunch of pansies.

  7. Loraine Lamontagne Says:

Anth: They are not vocal because they have been silenced by one Sen. Marjorie LeBreton. If ever you have time, go check out what happened to the freedom of speech of Sen. Meighen and Sen. Segal. If elected - and under party discipline - our Senate will become totally useless to Canadians. The nomination process may need some adjusting - maybe a statutory committee should keep identifying what field of expertise is needed in the Senate. There is nothing undemocratic about political appointments. Actually they should be termed ‘democratically appointed’.

  8. Anth Says:

Loraine, I’ll agree that these Senators are unable to say a thing against the Conservative’s plans to reform the Senate is pretty much Sen. Marjorie LeBreton. I don’t like her at all.
