PM Harper promises more seats for BC
Prime Minister Stephen Harper delivered an election-style speech to Vancouver business leaders promising British Columbia additional representation in the House of Commons. Stephen Harper defined British Columbia “a relatively middle-sized province,” he went onto say that there isn’t any justification for under-representing British Columbians in Ottawa.
So the Prime Minister wants to give British Columbia additional seats. It’s a good idea on the Prime Minister’s part however; I feel there are other places throughout the country that are misrepresented. Hopefully he goes by it professionally and seeks Elections Canada’s advisement to establish an independent commission. This process is supposed to happen every ten years. It has only been a few since they added more seats federally.

.. but he wants to elect the current Senate, which would entrech a far more massive inequity!

I do believe that Harper does have the best of intentions in pursuing this course of action. However, I feel that he should also concentrate on provinces and territories that are misrepresented also.
