That would recognize the woman's choice to give birth, and might actually do something to protect that choice, unlike C-484 which does nothing to protect women or deter violence against them. C-484 does one thing: it recognizes a separate crime against a fetus, which is the first step toward defining the fetus as a "person". That in turn is the first step toward recriminalizing abortion. Then why not a Pregnant Victims of Crime bill? That would recognize the woman’s choice to give birth, and might actually do something to protect that choice, unlike C-484 which does nothing to protect women or deter violence against them.
