Government to respect bill; Gore throws the world a party

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

Prime Minister Stephen Harper says he’ll respect the passage of the bill that requires the government to meet the nation’s Kyoto commitments. Stephen Harper stated; “Of course, if and when that becomes law, the government would respect it.” It’s expected to receive overwhelming support from the Liberal dominated Senate.

The battered Prime Minister said, “I’ll just point out that the bill has no plan of action in it; the bill gives the government no authority to spend any money to actually have a plan of action.” I’m pretty sure that the government could act on the environment by taking the initiative to protect and by educating Canadians on how the country can take action to resolve the crisis of our time.

The Prime Minister appears to be taking a step backwards from previous government threats that they’ll ignore the Kyoto Implementation law and that they’d be prepared to face off against numerous lawsuits and even a non-confidence motion.

In other news relative to the environment, former-Vice President Al Gore has announced Live Earth concerts. Concerts already confirmed are going to be hold in the following cities: Shanghai, Johannesburg, London and Sydney, Australia.

The concerts will all be held on July 7th of this year. Artists and groups that have said they’ll take part of the behemoth event: Snoop Dogg, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, the Foo Fighters, Lenny Kravitz, Sheryl Crow, Korn, Black Eyed Peas, Duran Duran, Pharrell, Faith Hill and Bon Jovi. I do hope that they have a concert close or in Vancouver, B.C., I would so buy tickets to support Al Gore’s movement on the environment.

. . . . . . . . . . . I wished he’d ask me to be one of his Young Ambassadors for spreading his message around the world for climate change . . . . . . . .

Condi & Chertoff to visit Ottawa

Wednesday, February 7th, 2007

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff are expected to visit with Peter MacKay, David Emerson, & Stockwell Day on February 23rd in Ottawa to discuss the ways on how Canada should improve border security.

I do agree with that border security is a very important sensitive issue; the United States doesn’t realize that this is a bilateral decision where both sides should take charge and not a unilateral decision by the United States’ Government to enforce on the Government of Canada.

CTV’s Robert Fife stated, “Americans are very concerned that Canada is dragging its feet.” There hasn’t been any polling researched done on the question, articles relative to the issue on American newsprint or websites, or report on American news broadcasts that I’ve searched Google for and ended up empty handed. I am pretty sure that Mr. Fife meant Americans as in their elected officials in the Bush Administration.

In regards of this information I have learnt: I am pretty sure that Peter MacKay has the entire weekend planned with his newfound love, Condi. The itinerary planned so far is; Tim Horton’s, Tim Horton’s and more Tim Horton’s. Of course they’ll get to the heart of the matter and I’ll be reporting more on PetCon over the course of the visit.

Motion passes; Environmentalists celebrate in the streets

Monday, February 5th, 2007

The motion introduced by Stéphane Dion to reaffirm Canada’s support for Kyoto has passed in the House today, 161 – 115. This is a step forward in the right direction; repair Canada’s international reputation, after receiving a crucial damaging blow almost a year ago when the Harper government announced their intentions to withdrawal from the Kyoto Protocol.

It is certain that Canadians have mixed feelings on climate change and the Kyoto Protocol; however, the majority has ruled in favour of the Kyoto Accord over the Conservatives’ made-in-Canada plan. (63% for Kyoto commitments, 30% for made-in-Canada plan; Source: Canadians Pick Kyoto Over New Environmental Plan, Angus Reid Global Monitor.)

It is clear that Stéphane Dion and the Liberals speak for the majority of Canadians across the country. The environment will be the key issue in the next election, I don’t think Steve has enough pixie dust in his accountability bag.

Stop your jibber-jabber!

A fellow comrade-in-arms Jason Cherniak started a petition yesterday afternoon to call for Wajid Khans resignation, which I took seriously and signed. Within minutes Kate MacMillan (Small Dead Animals) posted a direct link where right wing fanaticized hooligans put their tomfoolery to practice.

A few examples of their hooliganism:

And some wisdom from Mr. T:

Silly Taylor

Friday, January 5th, 2007

Blogging Tories very own Stephen Taylor announced yesterday Liberal MP Wajid Khan will be crossing the floor to join Conservative ranks sometime today. Monsieur Stphane Dion stated the following, “in politics you hear many things and to me, Mr. Khan is a colleague. He will be part of the caucus; he will work in a positive way and is a very committed liberal. Stephen Taylors background is not in investigative journalism and he is apart of the minority of bloggers who believe they can report the news with getting away with it.

However, we all know to become a good journalist you cannot make speculative articles in your column or on the national news broadcast without concrete evidence. Mr. Taylors blog is the equivalence of a celebrity gossip magazine and almost far fetched as my favourite tabloid, The World Weekly News.

UPDATE: Khan just kissed his career in politics goodbye. In other news all should head over to Cherniak’s top five reasons for Khan’s defection.

UPDATE #2: Wow. Stephen Taylor was right but I still find him arrogant.

Senate Reform

Saturday, December 16th, 2006

Earlier this week Stephen Harper announced he would introduce legislation on Senate Reform which would allow Canadians to choose their preferred candidates of choice to represent their province or territory in the Senate, which will not require amending the countrys constitution.

The next step in Harpers notion on this touchy subject to achieve an electable Senate is where the final choice is invested in the Prime Ministers Office to abide by the current understanding of Senate appointments in accordance of constitutional law, the Prime Minister will appoint the most favoured Senatorial candidates to their elected position to represent their electors from across the country. You see, Stephen Harper is not my Prime Minister because his view is undemocratic and unconstitutional, and disfavours all of Canadians.

I have read several peoples views on CBC.cas Your View on the article that was published on December 13, 2006 on the topic currently being discussed, and made the following observation; Canadians are worried if having an electable Senate is a step forward towards republicanization of the Canadian democracy, which in the end will adopt the likeness of the United States Government.

I do not believe adopting the governing system of the United States is for the Canadian democracy and that system is not workable here. There are several democracies around the world that have a bicameral parliamentary system (consists of two houses; upper & lower), where their Citizens vote for their own Senators. The following are; Czech Republic, Germany, and Belgium.

I believe Canada should have an electable, equal and effective Senate thatll improve the democratic principles of our beloved country and is a step forward for Canadians to synch into modern times where appointments of non-elected persons to represent Canadians is just a toy dinosaur collecting dust in the constitutional closet. The question is simple; would the majority of Canadians agree with my logic?

I’ll be writing something short on constitutional reform sometime this weekend. Watch out.

Attacks on Dion

Wednesday, December 6th, 2006

The Conservatives have viciously attacked Stphane Dion after he won full support from fellow Liberals as our partys new leader. The Conservatives stated that they plan on pinning the partys shortcomings while serving at pleasure of Canadians in government. I think the Conservatives have made poor judgment on this decision because the Gomery Report has exonerated him from the sponsorship scandal in fact, Mr. Dion opposed ad scam and the sponsorship scandal altogether and didnt want any part of it.

The Western Standards Ezra Levant stated in his Calgary Sun column: “When it comes to making decisions about the war on terror, and Canada’s role in Afghanistan, will Dion be unduly influenced by France, a country that has taken up the role of lawyer and arms dealer for every terrorist state in the world, even defending Saddam Hussein until the eve of his overthrow?”

I have a few questions for Mr. Levant: Are you an idiot?, Have you not read a paper or watched television in the past several months?, Why are you questioning Stphanes loyalty to Canada?.

I am going to take the words directly from his mouth; hes a Canadian first, Quebecker second. Nor should you doubt him. Stphane is so proud of being Canadian his pride floods whatever room hes in he truly is a Canadian. Monsieur Dion is not influenced by France; Canada is the only country in his heart.

The Canadian Government encourages oneself to embrace their heritage regardless of foreign nationality by taking on dual citizenship. The Harper Government recently reported that they are looking into cutting social programs to Canadians who hold dual citizenship and lived abroad in that country for a long period.

If the Conservatives were to enact this policy it will be found to be unconstitutional since in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and our constitution, it dictates that all Canadians have the right to social programs. We are a nation of equality; however the Conservatives arent a party of equality, their fakers. They proved this by closing down 12 of 16 Status of Women Offices across the country and are unwilling to meet Arabic groups despicable.

Oppose the motion?

Sunday, November 26th, 2006

Do you oppose the Harper Government’s motion to recognize the Quebecois as a nation because it’ll lead to the country’s demise? Same here. Please sign the petition. Thank you very much.
