Silly DipCons.

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

There is no doubt that the New Democrats and the Conservatives are in league together. There have been moments in Canadian political history where they’ve supported each other’s democracy to perverse the Canadian democratic tradition that has been celebrated for over a century.

Conservative and NDP sources have told CTV that the Harper government will back a NDP motion slated to call for a national referendum to abolish the unelected Senate that’ll be introduced to the House of Commons next Tuesday.

The NDP-CONs will be able to pass Jack Layton’s motion in the House. I have a good feeling that the vote will be defeated in the Liberal dominated Senate. I find it awkward that the Conservatives proclaim themselves to be the defender of traditions that Canadians hold when in fact it’s just a white lie to earn their vote during their electoral mode.

I have a good feeling that the Liberal dominated Senate will make the right decision in defeating this motion.

The biggest pile yet

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

I have lurked many ultra-pro-Conservative biased websites and found them to be quite a large piles of bullshit. However to my surprise I was to discover the biggest pile yet (www.notaleader.ca). The Conservatives are prematurely proclaiming themselves to be the champions of Senate Reform on this new website. Like most Conservative pamphlets and other vessels of propagating their heart and mindless agenda (through the Harperbot 3000 or the Young Conservative Drones (YCD) they need to bash the Liberals every time they get).

This website worships the Conservatives’ plan for reforming our Senate. They want to place an eight year cap on the Senators’ service to their Canada. Okay these are patronage appointments, yes. They’re a major function of Canada’s political machine and major part of our democratic traditions and values. The elected Conservative Officials who haven’t done anything for Canada but having Canadians in submission to their oblivious agenda want to reform and take away these great men and women’s work and tear it up. These people have been appointed to these positions on their merit and credentials, not just party loyalty.

The Conservatives want to destroy Canada’s democratic traditions. Want me to name a few? Lieutenant General Roméo Dallaire and the now retired Senator Jack Austin are just some examples. The Conservatives have to look at the appointments that their predecessor Brian Mulroney made. There are a lot of people who he appointed who don’t have merit, don’t have the credentials to serve in Canada’s highest chamber. Yet they did it. The Conservatives have to learn that they can’t take their frustrations out on Canadians – we aren’t your boxing bag.
