I’m pleased that the Conservatives are set to lose the Peace Tower flag-lowering vote requiring the government to have a moment of silence on Parliament Hill and lowering the flag whenever a Canadian soldier’s life is loss abroad and here at home protecting our country and our citizenry from any threat whether it’s domestic, foreign or natural.
These men and women risk their lives daily in Afghanistan and countless other operations throughout the world everyday. Let’s give them the benefit of the doubt and remember these women and men who loss their lives for representing their country wherever their lives were taken. We owe it to them and their families for their countless efforts to promote Canadian principles and beliefs internationally.
The Conservative Government is believed not to honour this motion when it does pass in the House of Commons. The Conservatives are spurring out sentences that they’re committed to military families. They haven’t follow through with their campaign promises in reforming the military and there’s only one political party that truly wishes the best for our troops and their families because they’re one of the utmost important working families in our country that have been constantly abused in the political arena. This healthy for a country to honour our fallen soldier. It helps Canadians to mourn the loss of a soldier who fought and defended our values. This helps a nation ease her pain.
I’ve created a petition to pressure the government of Canada to follow through with this motion.
